Full of Hot Air

Well….it was fun.  Kinda.  We got the go-ahead for our Hot Air Balloon Ride yesterday.  We headed to Wausau, ate an early supper and met our friends who went with us.  We got to the site, signed our lives away and got to the balloon launching site.  We watched them unpack it, and blow it up.  My excitement was brewing while Nicole’s nervousness was boiling.  We got into the basket and the winds picked up.  We got jostled around the basket pretty good, and fifteen minutes into the winds not letting up, we had to quit.  We have to reschedule for a 4th time.  This time is for the morning of Oct. 19th.  Pray for us.
In the meantime, here are the pics to prove we were at least there:

Despite, the disappointment, we still managed to have a good time, so it wasn’t a complete waste.  We’ll just try it again!

Screwy Anniversary

Wow.  I guess I’ve been married 5 years today.  Doesn’t seem like it.  Some days it feels like forever and some days feels like just yesterday.  It’s been a great 5 years though….full of ups and downs, trips, boredom and curve-balls, arguments and I’m sorry’s.  We can still carry a conversation without saying a word, finish each others sentences and 90% of the time, we’re thinking the exact same thing.  I couldn’t ask for more.
Nothing planned for today to celebrate…but tomorrow we’re celebrating in a big way with a Hot Air Balloon Ride.  Wow, I can’t believe it’s tomorrow.  The weatherman has been busy dashing my hopes for flight tomorrow by putting “Breezy” in the forecast, but looking closer, winds seem good for Sunday Night. YAY!
Yesterday, Hubby and I had the day together alone by both taking off of work and taking kidlet to Day Care.  We used it by cleaning the house and building raised-bed for a veggie garden next year. (God, I feel old writing that.) BUT–I got to play with power tools!!

I screwed these!! (You know what I mean) 😛

AND NO INJURIES!  I’m a little sore today, but that’s because I’m a pansy.  Hubby says we have more work to do out there today….somehow, I’m less enthusiastic today.
Anway, I guess that’s all the news here for the minute.  Hopefully, I will have an OUTSTANDING post for Monday 🙂

Narcoleptic Living…..Zzzzz

Sorry I’ve been MIA for a few.  Not much going on, just daily life.  Kidlet is having a hard time sleeping at night, even with letting her cry it out.  Guess I will have to consider taking Kidlet to the Dr…in case it’s heartburn or something like that.  In the meantime, surviving on sleep deprivation is getting old.
I’m enjoying some time off of work as I write this.  Hubby and I both took Friday off of work, and we’ll enjoy the first day together (as in “just us”) in four months, as Kidlet will go to Day Care that day.  I’m pretty excited.  With having Friday off, and Monday being a Holiday, I don’t have to be back in the shop until next Friday.  Yay!
Tomorrow is a trip to Wausau.  Hubby has a meeting there, and he’ll drop me off at Barnes & Noble where I will meet my best friend and hang out for a bit.  After 12:00p.m. Hubby will pick me up and we’ll head to the car dealership and possibly trade in our ’05 Grand Am in an effort to get lower monthly payments.  We’ll see.  I’m not sure what we have going on Saturday, but pending good weather, our Hot Air Balloon Ride is Sunday!!!!!!!  I’m so exited!!  I’m trying not to get my hopes up too much, as the weather forecast calls for Sunday to be breezy, but a girl can still hope. 🙂
Anyway, I have some more pics of my gorgeous Orchid…as it’s ALL in Bloom now!  Enjoy!

I’m Still The Only One Full of Hot Air

Yesterday we ventured to the Hot Air Balloon Rally.  Unfortunately, the balloons never left the trailers because the winds never died down enough.  However, we still had fun.  I deep-throated a Corn Dog, so the day wasn’t a complete waste. LOL

Hubby and I enjoying the day

The Only Balloons we got to see all Day

We ate/drank enough calories for a week.  We had Corn Dogs and French Fries, soda, I had 2 alchoholic drinks, then we left and went to Arby’s for supper and then we had Cold Stone Ice Cream.  I had to force that Ice Cream down, but damn it was worth it.  There’s a new King of Ice Cream in the world.  Cold Stone is it.  It costs about as much as a whore, but you get the same amount of pleasure, so it’s a toss-up.
I’m on a Watermelon cleanse today….I think that’s pretty self-explanatory.
Today is also quiet…trying to relax a bit, and hopefully catch some Nascar.   Tomorrow is back to work.

Check Please!

Hmmm…where to start today.   Well, yesterday was bloody hot, even hotter in the greenhouse and work was D-E-A-D Dead.  Our boss let us take a 2 hour lunch instead of a 1 hour lunch in lieu of the quietness.  That actually put me in a pepredicament.  The electrician was at the house working on our panel (whatever that is) and we didn’t have power.  So.  2 hours to myself, no kidlet, and unable to go home.  Hmmmmmm…
I deposited my paycheck, and went to a local sit-down restaurant figuring they’d let me stay for awhile and I’d save all that gas money by not going home and back into town.
All was going well.  I was texting my best friend and enjoying my fish sandwich.  I then went to shake the ketchup bottle for my fries.  That’s when I discovered (all too late) that some bastard didn’t screw the cap on tightly.  There I was, alone in a public restaurant covered in ketchup.  My face, my neck, my shirt, my cell, the table, the wall, and probably some places I didn’t discover.  Sonofa&$*!
I cleaned up as fast as I could with the 2 small used napkins I had, and then realized that I HAD to go home to change shirts.  Otherwise I would go back to work looking like I was 3 and couldn’t feed myself.  Yikes.
So: Lunch $10
20 miles round trip to my home and back to work = The price of my soul
But, I got a new shirt and little of my dignity back.
It just wasn’t my day.
Camp Staff invited us out last night, but we told them they were stupid for going to a bar on the weekend that Country Fest is going on here.  (which holds 25,000 people per day.)  http://hodag.com/
So, we had them over for a campfire.  About 12:00a.m. severe weather rolled through.  We were well aware of it coming, so the fire wrapped up about 11:00p.m. when the warning was issued.  I was secretly happy because it meant I got to bed at a decent time. 😛
As for the storm, it did weaken right before it got here, so we just picked up a 1/4″ of rain and some wind.  Nonetheless, hubby still had to go out and round up scouts like cattle to get them to storm shelters.  Got to love summer!

As for today, the Hot Air Balloon Rally is this afternoon/evening. http://www.wausauareaevents.org/events/balloonglow.cfm
Breezy conditions are expected, so keep your fingers crossed that it’s still a go!  (Pleaassee!)
Our friends just confirmed this morning that they will be joining us for our Hot Air Balloon Ride Aug. 31st.  YAY!!!!!!!!!!
She was due to have their baby the 10th (my Godson) but he’s not here yet.  Rrrrrr.  I don’t wait well……. Patience is NOT my forte.  I’ll keep you posted though!

Up, Up & AWAY!!!

IT’S OFFICIAL.  OUR HOT AIR BALLOON RIDE IS SCHEDULED FOR AUGUST 31ST!  THE DEPOSIT IS DOWN!  IT’S A GO!!!!!!  YAY!  Another dream coming true!  I really don’t think I could ask for a better husband than the one I have.  He’s up for anything and believes anything is possible.  He’s amazing.  Without him, I wouldn’t be doing 1/2 of these things.
I think this may be the best summer in a REALLY long time.  We haven’t done anything extravagant, but trips to the park with kidlet, or our weekly get-togethers with friends and cook-outs are really making the summer FEEL like summer.  I’m LOVING it!–Sorry McDonald’s for ripping that off…
The Hot Air Balloon Rally is this weekend, which I’m especially exicted to bring my camera to.  (Yes, I’m aware of my geek status, and I’m okay with it.)  Look out Flickr!!– come next Tues., I’ll be testing it’s server capacity. 😀
Also, my God Son is due TOMORROW!!!!  I’m so freaking excited!!!!!  I have someone to knit for for the rest of my life!  Also, we have it worked out that we’ll be doing an arranged marriage between kidlet and him…okay, not really, but the thought of it makes me excited.

I Could Crap Candy

How many times can I blog in one day?  I dunno.  Doesn’t matter I suppose.  Just came across some GREAT news and found a Hot Air Balloon Company about an hour from us.  You know what that means?  No hotels, 1/2 a tank of gas, and easy rescheduling! (If needed)  I’m so excited right now, I could crap candy.
Here’s a pic of the company’s newest Balloon:

Sea Fantasty

As if all this excitement wasn’t enough….I also found a this to go to:  http://www.wausauballoonrally.com/
I can’t wait!  I haven’t been to a Hot Air Balloon Rally since…well…a very long time.   Those are going to be some AWESOME pictures!  This is turning out to be one of the best summers in a long time….maybe ever. 🙂

It’s a GO!!!!!

Wow.  Big news today.  The Hot Air Balloon Ride is a Go!!!!!  I talked to Hubby yesterday and he agrees that it’s a good idea.  So, I have the go-ahead to do more research and let him know how much money we have to save for it.  I told him in exchange for this awesome experience, we don’t have to do gifts.  I think that was a big selling-point.
We also got to go out last night.  It was an early night though as most everyone was tired.  We were home at midnight, which was fine.  I got some really bad pics of me last night though.  Feel free to laugh.  It’s why I write this thing:

Crystal, Sally and I

Tony (also known as “Chef”) and I

There was also a new drink (at least to me) last night.  Vanilla Doc, Cranberry Juice and Cream.  Oooh la-la! 😉
Next week is just movie night at home with Hubby and I.  Although, I do have to say that having a Social Life again is REALLY nice.  I’m going to miss it come the end of Camp.  That’s the ONLY thing I’ll miss though.

Full of Hot Air

This August make 5 years Hubby and I have been married.  As always, he wanted to go Camping.  Umm, no.  Not this year.  I took a look at my “Bucket List” and thought maybe we should use this mildstone as an excuse to take a Hot Air Balloon Ride.  So, I’ve been pricing and at $184.36/person it’s expensive, but I can’t help to think still worth it.  I mean, really, it’s a once in a lifetime thing.  So, I’m going to do my best to make it happen.  I don’t think it will take too much pleading to have Hubby agree.  Hell, I’m even willing to sleep in the car and pack our food to make it happen.
I’ve asked our friends along (Grace’s Godparents) and I honestly expected a “no” right off the bat seeing they’re having a baby July 10th.  But they surprised me in wanting to know more details before they decide.  So, I’m REALLY excited about that.  I think I’ll talk to Hubby more about it today.  We only live once and I want to make the most of it!

I was hoping for a family trip back to the park this afternoon, but there’s a 60% of thunderstorms with small hail.
We’re also hoping to go out tonight, as this is the last weekend Hubby’s Boss is here before he leaves for his new job in Pittsburgh.  We really like him and are going to miss him so much.  As I write this Hubby is scouring Camp for a Babysitter tonight.  Wish us luck!
