Happy Halloween! I ironically spent mine stringing Christmas lights on trees, putting together another tree, hanging ornaments, etc. Tis’ the Season!
I got off work an hour early to pick up kidlet to go Trick-or-Treating. She had gone once during daycare, but we still had to make the rounds to Grandma & Grandpa and Auntie. So, I picked her up, took her home, got her dressed, gathered our things and left. Went to Grandma & Grandpa’s, then went around the block to Auntie’s, then further around the block back to Grandma & Grandma’s. There, we found that Grandpa had gone back into the woods, so we took Grandma out to eat. Upon finishing dinner, we dropped Grandma off back at their house and did a major grocery shopping trip. After getting home and unloaded, we got kidlet to sleep and I squeezed in a work-out and a shower. I’m tired.
The Hot Air Balloon Company called my cell during work asking if we would like to try to go again as this weekend’s weather is looking really nice. A few phone calls made and a few phone calls returned, it looks like we’ll be trying again tomorrow night. Keep your finger’s crossed! Grandma is kind enough to take kidlet over-night Saturday, so that should be nice.
Sunday we’ll be heading to my hometown to see kidet’s other Grandparents and attend the Halloween Parade. My parents are planning on having lunch for us, which means an early kidlet pick-up and road-trip. A busy weekend indeed!
I don’t really have anything witty or thought-provoking today. Weariness has taken all of those thoughts hours ago.

Our Lil' Princess

Happy Halloween!

Well….it was fun. Kinda. We got the go-ahead for our Hot Air Balloon Ride yesterday. We headed to Wausau, ate an early supper and met our friends who went with us. We got to the site, signed our lives away and got to the balloon launching site. We watched them unpack it, and blow it up. My excitement was brewing while Nicole’s nervousness was boiling. We got into the basket and the winds picked up. We got jostled around the basket pretty good, and fifteen minutes into the winds not letting up, we had to quit. We have to reschedule for a 4th time. This time is for the morning of Oct. 19th. Pray for us.
In the meantime, here are the pics to prove we were at least there:

Despite, the disappointment, we still managed to have a good time, so it wasn’t a complete waste. We’ll just try it again!

Wowza…that’s a term I don’t use too often, but it’s the only one to fit the description of today.
One of the “perks” of working at the shop I do is serving the older clientele. With that, I get the distinct privilege of hearing about their health problems. Today, I got the honor of hearing an elderly woman talk about her Hysterectomy and how “Usually they pull everything out of the Vag,” and “don’t get my tubes tied, pull the oven out.” *sigh* Thank you, “Superbad” for bringing the term “The Vag” into my life. Thank you, elderly woman for forever ruining that for me. Some days, I just don’t get paid enough.

There’s some trouble brewin at work at the moment. I don’t know specifics at the moment, but I’ll keep you posted. It could be big.
Today was kidlet’s first day in the “Chipmunk Room” at Day Care. She’s no longer a “Bunny.” Our Day Care categorizes our children into groups of rodents…which I guess is appropriate. Anyway, I was a little worried because she only goes Mondays and Fridays, so her classmates had the week to adjust and today was her first day. She did great though, and really didn’t seem to care since she was with 5 other of her classmates that moved with her. It was good.
In car news: We considered getting the AWD version of the 2009 Pontiac Vibe, especially seeing the dealership had one of those on the lot. However, after pricing it out, it was too much, so we went back to still wanting the basic model. The good news is that they got one in today. The “iffy” news is that it’s still a step up from the basic model which translates into a larger down payment. After consideration, we decided that we’ll do it. This means “Earnest” money went in the mail to the dealership today, so they hold the vehicle for us, and it means that once we get the down payment money, we should (finally) have a 2009 Pontiac Vibe in our driveway by the end of next week. I’m excited because this is the first NEW car I’ve had in my life! Go Me!
In Hot Air Balloon Ride News: Our trip was postponed on Aug. 31st because of wind. We’ve rescheduled for Sept. 14th and the only thing left to do is cross our fingers for good weather and calm winds!
This weekend is a Bike Race out here at Camp. Hubby is working it not only bringing money in for Camp, but for our Fire Dept. It’s great for him….bad for me, meaning I get the single-parent gig this weekend, but it’s okay. There’s not much I won’t do for kidlet.

Morning. For all of you holding your breath for amazing Hot Air Balloon Ride pics….exhale. They’re not here. Our trip got cancelled/post-poned due to winds. Now, is the task to reschedule, but I think we might try again in as soon as 2 weeks. I’ll keep you posted.
Hubby and I still took advantage of an overnight babysitter for kidlet and we were going to head to Wausau anyway, but I realized that was kind of pointless seeing that we had just been there and we need to go back this week to pick up our new car. So, I changed plans and we headed to Minocqua for the afternoon.
We walked the shops and on the hottest day of the year, I purchased hand knit gloves for me and mittens for kidlet. (–It’s me. In my world it makes sense.) We then headed to the Casino for supper and each used $20 in the slots. It was nice.
I got home last night to find a message on our machine that Grandpa is in Intensive Care with Pneumonia. My Grandma expects hum to stay there for a few days yet. If you’d all keep him in your thought and prayers, I’d appreciate it.
I don’t know what’s on the agenda for today. Not much, I suppose…afterall, it is a holiday. I’m keeping an eye on my Grandpa’s situation and debating a trip there this week. We shall see.
